All of my expectant parents are wormed prior to mating. My expectant mothers food intake is increased three weeks after conception and at about week six of their pregnancy I change to puppy food versus adult food. Once the babies are born, I worm the mother again right after she has the puppies. The mothers continue to eat puppy food until the puppies are weaned.

All of my Miniature Dachshunds are on Heartguard Plus. Heartguard is safe for puppies as young as 6 weeks. I give Nemex 2 to my puppies at 2, 4, 6, 8, and 12 weeks old. I personally have only had to use Praziquantel one time.
